A ropeway, a cable car, a ferry ...oh my



So in terms of trying to see Fuji-san, I think that Hakone is definitely our best bet. After researching stuff on www.japan-guide.com, Hakone is easier to get to from Tokyo and Osaka. To get to Hakone from Osaka, it takes about 3 hours by train and bus, and to Tokyo it's about 30 min.

To get to the other option (the 5 lakes) from Osaka, it is about 4 hours by train and bus, and to Tokyo it's about 2 hours by train.

Considering we might not even get to see Fuji-san, I think that Hakone is definitely our best option of allowing us to maximize our time.
